To circumcise all males on the eighth day after their birth (Lev. 12:3)

            the home of an Orthodox family

            the home is literally made of glass

            so you can see into all rooms at once

            in the nursery RIVKA holds and rocks a baby

            her husband YITZCHAK stands in the doorway to the nursery

            in the living room a MINYAN OF MEN wait expectantly

            the MINYAN watch RIVKA and YITZCHAK through the glass walls

RIVKA
            rocking the baby
just a few more minutes

YITZCHAK
we’ve kept them all waiting

RIVKA
            rocking the baby
just a few more minutes

YITZCHAK
it will be quick and you can hold him after

RIVKA
            rocking the baby
just a few more minutes

YITZCHAK
his boyhood must begin

RIVKA
but it doesn’t need to begin for a few more minutes
his boyhood can wait a few more minutes

            RIVKA keeps rocking the baby

            the MINYAN keep watching her

            YITZCHAK looks helplessly between the MINYAN and RIVKA

            no idea what to do
